FAQs
Q: Is mystery shopping for real?
A: Absolutely! Companies small and large from across the country use the services of mystery shoppers to independently evaluate the quality and level of service that their customers receive. For this service the companies pay for the evaluation to be conducted, and often times will reimburse the shopper for some or all of the purchase that may be required.
Q: How much money do secret shoppers make?
A: Most companies pay you by the shop. Many secret shoppers are earning extra income for their families while they are running normal, everyday errands. Compensation ranges from free merchandise, meals, and other perks to possible monetary benefits for more experienced secret shoppers.
Q: Why should I have to pay for this service?
A: It is true, you can find some of these jobs on other job posting boards. However, after searching hundreds of sites (which might take hours) to find a mystery shopping opportunity to apply for, you could have already completed two shops. Shopper Services is NOT a mystery shopping company, we compile opportunities from hundreds of mystery shopping companies around the country and provide these opportunities to you in one simple location. Your membership fee gives you access to our extensive database, as well as access to EXCLUSIVE opportunities to our members only.
Q: Do I need a degree or a special certification to be a secret shopper?
A: You do not need a degree or even a certification in most states to be a secret shopper. Often the number of shopping assignments offered and the amount you are compensated are determined in part by your shopping experience. At Shopper Services we provide you academic experience and knowledge as well as practice shopping assignments you will be able to use in your first official assignment.
Q: How do I know there will be assignments in my area?
A: Secret shopping is utilized by almost all major food chains, auto dealerships, department stores and national grocery chains. If you have any of these types of businesses in your area then there is secret shopping already occurring in your area. With the largest database of opportunities in the country you will be able to locate the most jobs in your area.
Q: What exactly do secret shoppers do?
A: A secret shopper's job is to evaluate companies and their business from the perspective of a customer. If the manager of a store would like to know how its employees are doing, but wants the opinion from an "everyday" shopper then that manager would hire a secret shopper to pose as a real customer to evaluate different aspects of the business. Secret shoppers evaluate store cleanliness, customer service, parking, and other aspects important to the ongoing success of the business.
Q: How do I get started as a secret shopper?
A: Shopper Services will provide you with training and work experience so when you apply with secret shopping companies you will be able to say you are an experienced shopper. We also have an active database of over 300 secret shopping companies covering the entire United States. A: Double check that you have entered your username and password exactly how it was provided to you. Also, be aware that the passwords, "PASSWORD" and "password" are different. If you are still unable to login contact customer service.
Q: Do I need an email address?
A: Yes, you will need an email address because in order to apply for jobs, you will need email. If you do not have an email address, we recommend that you set up a free email service with companies such Yahoo! or Hotmail.
